SUCCESS STORY

Mason Partners & Forsite

Building Trust and Delivering Success

There are two ways to succeed in business and outdo the competition; be first or be faster – and while not everyone can be first, technology can be the key differentiator that allows a company to move faster than their competitors and enable success.

Mason Partners is a relatively young company with just over 25 years’ experience in the UK property sector. With a team of 28 surveyors based in London and Liverpool, they cover all the key property sector disciplines, offering expert property advice for occupiers and owners of retail, leisure and commercial property throughout the UK.

Their client portfolio includes more than 40 well-known and trusted retail brands, both local and international – companies like Iceland, Superdrug, Virgin and Marks and Spencer to name just a few – operating in over 200 locations nationally.

Mason Partners are a customer centric agency, they are striving to be the best, and are investing in the latest tech tools to give them the competitive advantage that will take them there.

With such a diverse and widespread customer base, Mason Partners relies on an extensive network of contractors to assist in their service delivery and property maintenance – and as Thomas Webster, Mason Partners’ Facilities Manager relates, that comes with its own unique set of challenges.

“As we offer an extensive range of services to an ever-expanding group of clients, we place an incredibly high value on trust and transparency to help us deliver the highest quality level of services to those clients. This approach naturally extends to our contracted workforce.”

Webster cites this transparent approach as the key driver for their decision to run a pilot program using Forsite’s market leading online contractor management solution.

The initial pilot program covered 10 sites across Liverpool, Leeds, Hartlepool, Cheshire and Barrow-in-Furness, and delivered immediate value to Mason Partners by providing complete visibility of contractor activity, and assurance that tasks were being completed on time and within budget.

“Before implementing the Forsite system, we’d once had a contractor submit an invoice for four hours work for simply hanging a door in one of our properties. It’s a task that we felt shouldn’t have taken so long to complete, which raised concerns around trust and efficiency,” says Webster.

“With Forsite we now have a system that can provide absolute accountability for our contractors through an exact record of arrival and departure times, as well as an automatic process for communication and compliance, which saves them and us time and effort.”

Webster says following the successful pilot program, Mason Partners is now looking at rolling out the Forsite solution to their entire portfolio, with the aim of providing 100 percent visibility of contractor activity across the entire business.

“We firmly believe that by building long-term relationships with our clients and listening to what they say and adapting our approaches to suit their needs, we can consistently deliver the results they seek,” says Webster.

“We see Forsite’s no-nonsense system playing a key role in empowering our efforts to do this, and ultimately providing greater value for our company to help build on our success.”
